City of Jacksonville

Wilmot provided Jacksonville with waste reduction auditing and program planning. We evaluated opportunities for commercial waste reduction. Wilmot developed programs that bridged the gap between the public and private sectors and simultaneously provided guidance to businesses and Jacksonville. All recommended programs were developed with simplicity in mind to encourage participation. The impact of these programs provided three primary benefits to businesses:

• Significant reduction in the level of waste generated.
• Access to complementary waste reduction programs.
• A spirit of cooperation that linked businesses together in the effort.

The City of Jacksonville implemented Wilmot’s plans with little or no incremental staff or budget and continues to derive benefits on the effort year after year.
